Libby joined SignalFire in 2021 to oversee the legal affairs of the firm, including deal structuring and negotiation, advising on portfolio legal issues, advising portfolio companies on transactions, fund formation, and governance. Libby works closely with the investing and operations teams, board members, L.P.s and portfolio company entrepreneurs and CEOs on a range of legal activities across the firm.
Prior to SignalFire, Libby advised high-growth companies and their investors at Cooley LLP in the San Francisco office on private financings of all stages, mergers and acquisitions, public capital markets transactions and corporate governance matters. She also served on Cooley’s firmwide Associates Committee representing the San Francisco corporate practice and the firmwide Pro Bono Committee.
Earlier in her career, Libby was an investment professional at Industry Ventures and Cambridge Associates. She has also done consulting work with the U.S. government’s Overseas Private Investment Corporation (now the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation), the Clinton Climate Initiative and spent a year based in Bangkok investing in renewable energy and reforestation projects across Southeast Asia as a Princeton in Asia fellow.
Libby received a JD/MBA from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and Haas School of Business. She also received a B.A. in Environmental Earth Sciences from Dartmouth College. She is a member of the State Bar of California. Libby regularly lectures at UC Berkeley through the Berkeley Center for Law and Business and is passionate about increasing diversity in business law and entrepreneurship.
Born and raised in New England, Libby has spent over a decade imposing seasons on the Bay Area. Outside of SignalFire, she can be found in the snow in the winter, cycling in the fall and hiking in the spring and summer in the Bay Area and around the world with her family.
